MISSION STATEMENT

The Olga V. Figueroa Zapata County Public Library’s mission is to inform, enrich, and empower the community of Zapata County through convenient access to a vast array of ideas and information. The library provides opportunities for the people of the Zapata community to become technologically literate and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life.

The Olga V. Figueroa Zapata County Public Library is dedicated to providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our staff is helpful in providing assistance with locating books from the library’s collection and with technical support for patrons using the desktop computers.

Here’s what we offer:

Book Lending: Borrow from our extensive collection of books, including fiction, non-fiction, children's literature, and more. You must have a library card to check out materials (it's easy and free!).

Digital Resources: Access e-books, audiobooks, and online databases from the comfort of your home or using the library's desktop computers.

Public Computers and Wi-Fi: Use our computers for research, job applications, or personal projects. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. 

Printing, Copying, Laminating, Faxing, and Scanning: A full description of our services and associated charges is available at the circulation desk.

Interlibrary Loan: If we don’t have the book you’re looking for, we can borrow it from another library for you.

Programs and Events

Community Events: Participate in events that bring our community together.

Summer Reading Program: Offered annually in June, the summer reading program is a state-wide initiative to foster children's literacy and social-emotional development.

Research and Learning

Reference Services: Our knowledgeable staff is here to help you find the information you need.

Youth Services

Kid's Playroom: A dedicated space for kids to explore books, games, and educational activities.

Community Support

Meeting Rooms: Reserve our meeting rooms for community groups, clubs, or private events.

Local History and Genealogy: Explore our collection of local history resources and genealogy tools.
